My son would have been 5 years old next week. Joe Grayson Morgan was diagnosed with Trisomy 13 when I was 19 weeks pregnant on December 28 - 2012.
We were pushed to terminate by all the medical professionals we came in contact with and after the diagnosis was confirmed by the MaterniT21, it got worse. The test is available in most countries now under different names but it is a non-invasive prenatal test and doesn't hurt a bit unless you decide to give your baby a chance.
I started writing Joe's story this year on the anniversary of that ultrasound. It will be available later this month and I hope you'll remember us if you ever have a friend with a similar diagnosis. You might not get much out of the book but it can make a big difference for someone going through it.
